H-1B Visa Application
H-1B Visa Application also known as a “Specialty Occupations,” is available to those who have specialized knowledge and have obtained a bachelor or higher degree. However, a person who has equivalent training and can prove such training to a certified evaluation service also qualifies.
H-3 Training Visa
This visa allows a foreign national to enter the United States to receive training in a U.S. company. However, you may not come for a graduate program or medical training, and the training cannot be available in the trainee's home country. An added benefit is that you can bring your dependent spouse as well as unmarried children under 21 of age on an H-4 visa.
O-1 Visa
The O visas are for individuals without professional degrees but who have extraordinary ability or achievements in the fields of science, art, education, business or athletics. As such, it is an attractive alternative to H-1B.
More importantly, an O visa is used by visiting scholars who are facing expiration of their J status to complete their research projects, or who need more time to complete their waiver applications.
J-1 Waiver
This waiver allows exchange visitors of foreign countries to come to the United States to participate in exchange programs. These visas are often use for scholars, trainees, teachers, professors, research assistants, specialists, or leaders in a field of specialized knowledge or skill.
L-1 Visa
These visas are reserved for executive, managerial, or specialized employees to work in a related U.S. company in the same capacity. International companies use this type of visa to transfer their managerial personnel to parent, subsidiary, or affiliate U.S. companies. An added benefit to this type of visa is that it can be use as a route to permanent residency in the United States.
E-2 Visa
Also known as “treaty investor”, are for people from certain countries that have special relationship status with the United States to conduct business. To qualify under this visa, the foreign national must have invested or is investing a substantial amount of capital in an enterprise in the United States. The benefit of this visa is that it can be for an indefinite period of time.
K-1 Visa
More commonly referred to as the “fiancé visa”, it allows a foreign national to enter the United States to marry their U.S. citizen fiancé. The only caveat is that the marriage must occur within 90 days. As an added benefit, the minor children of the K-1 applicant can also apply under a K-2 visa to enter the United States.
