This case involved a class action against the Harris County Sheriff's Department and potentially could have cost the taxpayers over $20,000,000.00. The plaintiff's case was argued by union lawyers and the Solicitor General's office of the Bill Clinton Administration. Michael P. Fleming argued the case before the Supreme Court on behalf of the defendant. The Supreme Court of the United States deceded the case of Christiansen et al. v. Harris County et al. in favor of Mr. Fleming's client.
